If Apple Health or the Fitbit app show more steps than your Apple Watch, it usually means you have Fitness Tracking enabled on your iPhone. Fitness Tracking tracks your steps on your iPhone. Apple Health steps dashboard displays steps from numerous sources, so if you are tracking steps from your watch and your iPhone, it will add them together.
Our app can only sync one data source. Whatever is selected in the Fields tab will sync to Fitbit.
If you'd like to use Apple Watch to track your steps, please disable Fitness Tracking on your iPhone.
- Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Fitness & Motion -> and turn off Fitness Tracking.
If you'd like to use only your iPhone steps, please visit this FAQ about changing your steps source in the Fields tab.
Other causes for additional steps could be steps from a third party app, or if you're adding manual steps. If you need additional help with this, please contact our support team.
