The best way to know which is the active Apple Watch is to change the name of your watch. You could also just try syncing with each watch available until one of them works.
1. Change watch name:
- Launch the Watch App.
- Select General -> About -> Name
- Change the name of your Apple Watch.
- Click Done
- Click General -> My Watch (at top left navigation)
- You should be back on the main screen. The name of your watch should have changed.
2. Get data on watch with new name:
When you rename a watch, Apple Health considers it brand new. In order for it to show up in the Fields tab, there has to be some data on it. Turn our app off, launch the activity app, walking around a little bit with your watch, and then turn our app back on and it should show up.
3. Check to make sure steps are appearing on new watch:
To see your Apple Watch steps:
- Open the Apple Health app
- Go to the Today tab and choose a date you're having issues with
- Click Steps
- Click Data Sources & Access
- Under Data Sources, click on your Apple Watch
- Make sure steps are appearing
Note: steps will not appear here until your phone syncs with your watch. There's no way to control when Apple will sync, but it should happen within a day.
3. Sync New Watch:
- Force close our app
- Launch our app
- Go to the Fields tab
- You should now see the Apple Watch with the new name. Select it as the source for steps
- Sync!
4. (optional) Delete old watches:
**WARNING** - deleting old watches will delete all data on that watch!
To delete other watches that aren't your current watch, follow these instructions:
